This team is responsible for detecting, mitigating, and recovering losses associated with rewards leakage and benefits abuse.ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent will collaborate with a team responsible for managing the end-to-end Rewards Integrity strategy, leveraging advanced analytics, robust controls, and cross-functional partnership to identify and mitigate financial and operational risk.Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and potential leakage, translating insights into actionable strategiesMaintain audit-ready documentation and uphold governance and control standardsPerform and support hands-on operational execution, including manual processes, performance monitoring, and delivery of measurable resultsConduct deep dives into product constructs, processes, and data flows to identify risks, control gaps, leakage, and optimization opportunitiesPartner cross-functionally to align on strategic objectives, validate insights, and drive coordinated executionQualificationsRequired Skills/Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in risk management, analytics, or a related functionExperience with writing SQL queries, including working within Lumi (or similar data platforms)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and translate findings into actionable insightsDemonstrated ability to produce audit-ready documentation and operate within established governance and control frameworksExperience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across multiple business unitsDemonstrated ability to work independently in ambiguous environments, prioritize effectively, and drive measurable resultsAbility to deep dive into product constructs, processes, and data flows to identify risks, inefficiencies, and potential leakageStrong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiencesPreferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related fieldExperience in financial services, payments, or risk-focused environmentsFamiliarity with large-scale data environmentsAdvanced proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar languages, with demonstrated experience developing, reviewing, validating, and troubleshooting complex code and analytical solutions within Lumi or comparable data platformsFamiliarity with risk frameworks, controls, and governance processesExperience identifying and quantifying financial or operational leakage and implementing mitigation strategiesDemonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive cross-functional initiatives from insight to executionContinuous improvement mindset with experience optimizing processes or building scalable analytical solutionsEmployment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
